Layouts by volume

Decision 25: Plus One's layout follows volume. These are the three layouts the N+1 factory engine laid out from demand, copied from nplus1labs/factory at 9bc6753 (engine/examples/plus-one-*-run/layout.json). Each one runs the same eight steps (S1 to S8) and the same target times from this OPD.

Everything here is simulated from assumed values and uncalibrated. No unit has been built.

Layout File For Takt People Capacity, good units an hour Bottleneck
Bench cell bench-cell.json the first 100 builder units, in five build days 1,215 s 1 about 17 the technician
U cell u-cell.json about 2,000 to 4,500 a month 255 s 2 about 32 the operator on S1 to S6
Balanced MadeCell line madecell-balanced.json about 10,000 a month 51 s 7 about 89 W1 (S1 and S2)
  • Takt comes from the assumed demand: one 8-hour shift less half an hour of breaks, a 10% allowance and 21 working days a month.
  • Capacity comes from a discrete-event run of 2,000 units, with a ±30% spread on every target time.
  • The balanced line sits on decision 24's MadeCell base: a 40 x 8 ft frame with four bays and stations facing out from a central conveyor. S8 becomes a cell of three test fixtures.
  • Outside the simulation: the audio loopback, the RF check and wireless charging.
