S6 Close the base

Proposed work instruction for a line that doesn't exist yet. Times are targets.

Equipment: ring bonding fixture with a polarity gauge; pad press with a height gauge; closing press with force monitoring.

Steps

1. Bond the magnet ring into the base (op:ring-bond). Method: keyed fixture, polarity checked before the press. Target 8 s.
2. Place the charging coil and ferrite inside the ring (op:coil-place). Method: keyed to the base, adhesive-backed. Target 6 s.
3. Press the five pogo pads into the base (op:pad-press). Method: press to a hard stop. Target 6 s.
4. Close the base onto the core (op:base-close). Method: three snaps, force-monitored press. Target 8 s.
5. Check ring polarity, pad height and the key (op:polarity-check). Method: polarity gauge and height gauge. Target 4 s.

Watch for

• Battery lead pinched when the base closes (fm:wire-pinch, RPN 72).
• Magnet ring bonded flipped, or a segment missing (fm:ring-polarity, RPN 36).
• Coil off-centre in the ring (fm:coil-offset, RPN 45).
• Pogo pad recessed (fm:pad-recessed, RPN 30).
